There’s a certain magic in Los Angeles, good vibes, perfect weather, happy people and much to see, do, and shop!

Our beauty expert, Ana Gloria Valenzuela drove up all the way from Tijuana where she lives to spend a day in the city with me and walk around our favorite spots.

First of all, I have to mention that as women, it’s comforting to drive on safe highways. Our first stop was lunch at Sugar Fish, famous for its great quality and traditional food. Gloria has long had a craving for tuna, so the waiter made a delicious menu for her with tuna in every variation.

After lunch, we headed to Melrose Place, a beautiful neighborhood, where we spent time walking around: People are so nice and stores are amazing!

The guy from the valet where we left our car upon realizing that we were from Mexico didn’t even charge us!

After a visit to Zimmerman where we were dazzled by such beautiful dresses, we headed to Alfred’s Tea to sip a refreshing tea. Our choice? Rose Milk Tea with Boba. Iced tea, of course -no straw. Delicious!

Celebrities and tourists all around shopping and instagramming every moment.

A must see in Melrose Place? Glossier. What a feeling! There’s a line to go inside and everybody is on their phone recording and talking to the salesgirls who are kind enough to answer each and every question. Read Gloria’s own Glossier experience.

We then bumped into Moon Juice, the supplement store and couldn’t help going in: Collagen, CBD oil, pills for improving your mood… All kinds of concoctions to make you feel and look great!

And, last but not least, Violette Grey. Love it! A perfectly cured beauty boutique with every beauty item you can imagine: Perfumes that can only be found there, exclusive brands such as Charlotte Tilburry, Jillian Dempsey, Byredo… It’s paradise!

The sales guy, when he heard we were from Mexico told us he had worked with singer Paulina Rubio in the nineties and that no one had more beauty products than her. He said he had been very happy to be her makeup artist and that they even exchanged beauty tips.

After some shopping at Veronica Beard across the street and munchies at La Durée, time for Ana Gloria to head back to San Diego after dropping me in Brentwood.
